He is survived by: his wife Wilma Ellis; his daughter Nina of Raleigh; his niece Alicia Rich (Eric); his great-niece Evelyn "Eva" of Arlington, VA.; his uncles, William Basil Hawley of Coats, NC and Raymond Jernigan of Raleigh; and his sister-in-law Nina Reynolds of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by many cousins and nephews.
