He was predeceased by: his parents, George Douglas Watkins and Doris Creech Watkins; and his wife June Barnes Watkins. He is survived by: his son William David Watkins of Raleigh; his siblings, Doug Watkins of Lucama and Patsy Watkins Luczak (Tom) of Frankford, WV; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Barnes (Ann) of Fremont. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
