She was predeceased by: her parents, David Oscar Callaway and Lily Mays Callaway; her husband James Alton Croom; and her siblings, David Martin Callaway and Mary Ruth Duncan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol (Tim Bottoms) of Wilmington, Kathy (David Bryan) of Apex and Susan (Mory Read) of Raleigh; her sister Nancy Jane Stancil of Asheville; her grandchildren, Joshua Read, Jessica Snyder, Megan Bryan, Lily Read and Emma Read; and her great grandchildren, Bentley, Harlow Read, Noah, Aedyn, Gabriel and Lucy Snyder.
