She was predeceased by: her husband James "Jimmie" B. Thomason. She is survived by: her children, Jason "Jay" Thomason (Kimberly) of Newport, NC and Tela Thomason of Williamsburg, VA; her grandchildren, Alexandria "Allie" Harrison (Lucas), Taylor, Dillon Thomason, Frederick and Jimmie McFadden; and her great grandchild Jacob Harrison.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church (4815 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608). A reception was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Church's Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dot's memory to Trinity Baptist Church, the Raleigh Rescue Mission, or Public Broadcasting System (PBS), continuing her spirit of generosity and love.
