He is survived by: his wife Barbara Joan Hasbrouck; his sister Judith Frame; his children, Mark Vitek (Ellen), Greg Vitek (Elaine), Joanne Vitek Reeves and Karen Vitek Scarbrough (Keith); and his grandchildren, Lauren Vitek, Anna Louise Vitek Davis (Ian), Jonathan Vitek (Stephen), Michael Vitek, Elizabeth Williams and Caroline Morris.
