He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Cephas Edwards and Carrie Kent Edwards; his former wife Earline Harris Edwards; his wife Jenny Peters Edwards; his brother Grover Edwards; and his great grandchild Stella Marie Liberto.

He is survived by: his children, Amy Earline Edwards, Alta Lorraine Edwards Whitt (Steve), JC, Edwards, Jr. (Cindy) and Kent Harris Edwards (Keri); his granddaughter Carrie Elizabeth Hall; his children, Mary Hall Batten (Josh), Jacqueline Earline Whitt, Jessica Lorraine Breazeale (Joshua), Jenna Marie Liberto (Jeff), James Edwards Brewer (Annie), Christine Maria Edwards Whatley, Laura Kathryn Edwards Derringer (Bobby), Melissa Quinn Edwards and Faith Ann Edwards Oddon (Jeffrey); his great grandchild Greta Zecchini; and his grandchildren, Jacob Breazeale, Payton Brewer, Josiah Breazeale, Finley Brewer, Joe Batten, Carter Liberto, Braelyn Whatley, Jaycie Breazeale, William Brewer, Ellen Liberto, Owen Batten, Theo Batten, Parker Brewer, Cole Derringer, Taylor Derringer, Luke Derringer and Harper Ann Oddon. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
