Elizabeth Papps Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 86, Elizabeth Papps (Raleigh, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Elizabeth's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Elizabeth has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Herbert and Sara Elizabeth Gyle-Thompson; and her grandparents, Sir Courtenay Forbes and Lady Luia Forbes. She is survived by: her husband George Oliver "Ollie" Papps; her daughters, Jillian Sara and Luia Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Anne Renee, Leslie Brooke Palmer, Erik Oliver and Angus Benjamin Pulkka; and her brother David Gyle Thompson.
