He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer James Wellons, Jr. and Ruth Sanders Rose; and his sister Ruth Wellons "Ginger" Anderson. He is survived by: his brother Allen Hewitt Wellons (Elizabeth Hobgood Wellons). He is also survived by five nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St Paul's Episcopal Church (218 S 2nd St, Smithfield, NC 27577).
