She was predeceased by: her parents, Hans Walter and Maria Regler-Walter; her husband Jon W. Spangler; and her sister Renate Regler of Germany. She is survived by: her daughter Eveline "Evie" Spring of Raleigh; her brothers, Lothar Walter (Hannelore Plommer) of Germany, Gunther Regle of Germany and Friedrich Regler (Baerbel) of Germany; her nephews, Christian Regler and Harold Walter of Germany; and her sons, Chris Deminco (Vicki Preston), John Schmitt, Lee Walter, Steve Cutrona, Gene Avalon, Tim (Danielle Marvin), Wallace (Becky DeMent), Norbert Rueckel (Beth) and Mark Work (Ruth Wells).
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (11109 Poole Rd, Wendell, NC 27591).
