He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Brearley; and his parents, Flora Emma Jager and Edgar Brearley. He is survived by: his son David Brearley (Lynn) of Knightdale; and his sister-in-law Marie McClure of Durham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
