He was predeceased by: his brother Glenn Whelan Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Whelan, Blair Whelan, Reva Whelan and Johnny Whelan Jr.; and his siblings, Geanine W Eisel (Jim), Jim Whelan (Kristan) and Jeff Whelan (Kim).
