She is survived by: her children, Shirley Mitchell (Stanley), Alfred Boyd, Celery Austin, Anthony Horton (Anita) and Allain Horton; and her siblings, Jennette Boyd and Louis Boyd (Angelene). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Poplar Springs Christian Church (6115 Old Stage Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Horton Family Cemetery.
