With solemn reverence, we commemorate Hurshel Strickland of Raleigh, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on June 4, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Hurshel farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Hurshel is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Strickland and Ida Strickland; and his wife Maxine Strickland. He is survived by: his children, Eddie Cooke (Sandy), Tim Strickland (Tammy), John Strickland (Wanda), Teresa Thompkins (Donnie) and Dana Strickland (Karen). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Global Methodist Church (6020 Rock Quarry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ebenezer Methodist Church (6020 Rock Quarry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery (6020 Rock Quarry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610).
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Ebenezer Global Methodist Church in Raleigh or to Hospice of Johnston County.
