He was predeceased by: his parents, Flossie Berry Cooper and William Walter Cooper; and his brother-in-law D. Lee Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Martie Cooper; his sons, William Lee Cooper (Julie) of Wendell and Don Wayne Cooper (April) of Wendell; his sister Sandy Stephenson of Asheville; his sister-in-law Paula Roberts of Raleigh; and his nephew Art Giles of Broken Arrow, OK..
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). A graveside service was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Raleigh Memorial Park (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612).
