He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dowd Crooke of Raleigh, NC; his children, Jennifer Crooke Allen (Brian) of Raleigh, NC and Michael Crooke (Mara) of Raleigh, NC; his siblings, Wriston Donald Crooke (Pamela) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Kathryn Crooke Norman (Tim) of Manakin-Sabot, VA; and his grandchildren, Braxton Allen, Hudson Allen, Miller Crooke and Cooper "Cece" Crooke.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Beaver Hill Cemetery (420 Doctor M. L. K. Jr Ave, Edenton, NC 27932).
