He is survived by: his wife Gloria Sherron; his daughters, Julie Earp Byrd (Craig) of Raleigh and Carla Earp Starr (Brad) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Benjamin Starr (Sarah) of Raleigh, Hunter Starr (Kaitlyn) of Raleigh, Madison Walters (Will) of Charlotte, Will Hanna of San Diego, Carson Byrd of Raleigh and Evan Byrd of Raleigh; and his great grandchildren, Mary Austin Starr, Payton Starr, David Starr and Collins Walters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (140 E Market St, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
