He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mitchell Jr. and Katherine Kreiss Mitchell; and his stepmother Margaret Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Sheila Gooch (Marty), Cheryl Mitchell Loeffel and Kenneth Joseph Mitchell (Christi); his grandchildren, Damian Joseph Ganoe, Devin Ganoe, Katherine Loeffel, Joseph Mitchell, Jesse Barnett and Lacy Barnett; and his great grandchild Eli Mangum.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bright Funeral Home (405 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bright Funeral Home Chapel (405 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587).
