As Joy departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joy may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joy leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Julian Clarke and Elfrieda Ray Clarke; and her sister Elfrieda Jarrell. She is survived by: her husband Richard Haywood; her children, Richard Hunter Haywood III, Paige Marks Haywood and Kenneth Clarke Haywood (Tammy Taylor Haywood); and her grandchildren, Kenneth Clarke Haywood and Anna Taylor Haywood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Joy's name to Healing Transitions for Women, 1251 Goode Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
