It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kipp Cohoon of Raleigh, North Carolina, born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on March 3, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Cohoon and Ardis Cohoon; and her husband Thomas Cox Powell III. She is survived by: her son Jason Groot (Qinghua); her grandchildren, Julianna and Nico; her siblings, Sandy Craft (Spalding) of Morehead City and Floyd E. "Chip" Cohoon of Raleigh; her niece Kipp Price (Tom) of Virginia; her nephew Spalding Craft (Beth) of New Mexico; and her caregivers, Haddy Gaye, Rakey Manneh, Haddy Ceesay, Awa Mbye and Trina Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice.
