It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laurie Parra (Raleigh, North Carolina), who passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Laurie departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Laurie. Though Laurie may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her father Michael Colstrom; her sister Michelle Bros; and her pet Bella. She is survived by: her children, Ashley Burns (Alex Moen) of Raleigh and Kyle Parra (Samantha East) of Louisburg; her grandson Christopher Parra of Raleigh; her mother Sandra Colstrom (Wilke) of Omaha, Nebraska; and her siblings, Scott Colstrom of Monroe, Michigan and Debra Owens of Harwood. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
