We announce the death of Leonda Lavone Stephens Jones of Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 41. She is survived by: her husband Darren Jones; her parents, Henry Stephens and Malinda Thompson Stephens; her siblings, Chiffonda Holloway (Golet, Jr.), Kelly Thompson (Janet), Jackie Okoh, Antoinette Bailey and Augustina Okoh; and her nieces and nephews, Kaliah Thompson, Zarek Thompson, Neva Roman-Holloway, Ariana Okoh, Azaria Holloway, Jasmine Holloway and Isaiah Elmar Okoh. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Progressive Baptist Church (2504 Creech Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
