It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorraine Catherine O'Brien (Raleigh, North Carolina), who passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Shuart and Henrietta Neumann Shuart; her husband James Michael O'Brien; her brother Martin; and her daughter Eileen Jewell.

She is survived by: her children, Michael (Debra O'Brien), William (Jann O'Brien), Lorianne (Stewart Ludwig) and Patricia (Darren O'Hanlon); her son-in-law Lester Jewell; and her grandchildren, David, Matthew, Sara, Christina, Ashley, Krista, Michelle, Jack, Shawn, Stewart, Jessica and Claire. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Military Missions in Action or Catholic Charities of Raleigh.
