We are sad to announce that on June 8, 2025, at the age of 75, Marcia Alford (Raleigh, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Irven and Louise Allen Hicks; and her brothers, Tommy Hicks and Cary Hicks. She is survived by: her husband E. Jeffrey "Jeff" Alford, Jr.; her son E. Jeffrey "Jeff" Alford, III (Courtney); her brothers, Harvey Irven Hicks and David Hicks; and her grandchildren, Lillian, Hudson and Emsley. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Christ Church (120 E Edenton St, Raleigh, NC 27601).

“Principal Alford, Marcia Alford and just Marcia for those of us who had the pleasure of working their way through all the names, feeling the most comfortable with just Marcia. She came to Lacy when we were in need of someone to remake our once great school and she did! In 13 years she merged teachers, students, parents and yes her husband Jeff and son Jeff, into a family of learning. Never forget that to know her was to respect her, learn from her and become better for it. Bless you Marcia.”
