He is survived by: his sisters, Dolores Collins and Janiece Wall; his wife Barbara "Bobbi" Otis Courie; his children, Jon Courie (Roy Braeger) of Glendale, Calif., Anne Courie Meulink (Marco) of Raleigh and Nicole Courie (James Knott) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Annika, Shannon Meulink and Stella Knott; and his caregivers, Mandy Sandri, Florence Serem, Megan Hauber and Christine Waltz.
