He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mike and Flora Belle Abernethy. He is survived by: his parents, Weidner Abernethy and Tracy Hill Abernethy of Beech Mountain, NC; his siblings, Olivia Chrystine Abernethy and Justin Davis; his grandparents, Bob and Linda Hill of Chapin, SC; his aunts and uncles, Miles Abernethy, Flora Lynn, Robert Lester, Joe Abernethy, David Hill and Chrysti Hill; and his cousins, Miles Lester, Hannah and Joseph Abernethy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the McMillan Weidner Abernethy Foundation, PO Box 537, Banner Elk, NC 28604. The Foundation will provide donations to: safety and aviation, summer programs, Young Life, skiing and outdoor programs.
