He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nelson May and Benetta Butner May; and his sister-in-law Kay Dowd. He is survived by: his wife Clarkie Hinnant May; his son Brian; his daughter-in-law Mandy Vick; his grandsons, Andrew and Collin Vick; his brothers, Andrew (Wendy May), Ralph (Audrey May), George (Linda May) and Jack May (Linda Stevens); and his siblings-in-law, Sue, Louis Smith, Leslie, Deens Kornegay and James Dowd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
