He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Jones Stroupe and Odes Lawrence Stroupe. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Pou Stroupe; his son Andrew Lawrence Stroupe (Emily Weidrick) of Elizabeth City, NC.; his sister Nancy Stroupe Morrison of Crossnore, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Millie Pou Genet (John) of Morehead City, N. C. and Ihrie Pou O'Bryant of Raleigh, N. C.. He is also survived by seven nephews, two nieces and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to Christ Church and Transitions LifeCare.
