She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul James "P. J." Edwards and Jeanne Edwards; her daughter Deborah Bruegmann; her husband George Honan; and her brothers, James and John Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Honan (Christine) of Pittsburgh, PA, Karen Kukis (Glenn), Kathleen Hickey (Timothy) and Maureen Tunney (James) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Ryan Day, Kaitlyn Kukis, Abigail Kukis, Jack Kukis, Regan Hickey, Sean Tunney and Aidan Tunney; and her sister Roberta Meyers.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Chicago-based not-for-profit The Brotherhood for the Fallen (http://www.brotherhoodforthefallen.org.) which supports families of police officers fallen in the line of duty across the United States.
