He is survived by: his wife Judith Sharpe Smith of Raleigh; his children, Norman Smith (Diane), Paula Mullins (Kenneth) and Jeremy Smith (Anita); his grandchildren, Marty Smith (Ashley), Matthew Smith, Hunter Mullins, Quinn Mullins, Callie Smith, Zane Smith, Ella Smith and Jude Smith; and his great grandchildren, Brooke Smith and Mackenzie Smith.
