Philip Thorne James Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 15, 2026, at the age of 74, Philip Thorne James (Raleigh, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Philip shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Philip farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jesse Roland James and Martha Eleanor Thorne; his wife Marie Theresa Smith; his brothers, Jesse James II (Jane) of Raleigh, NC and John James of Williams, SC; his godchildren, Lucas, Joshua and Jensen Yost of Glendora, CA.; Phil. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
