He was predeceased by: his parents, Richmond Erastus Chambers and Velma Josephine Chambers; and his siblings, Leolla Marie Chambers, Lamon Chambers, Junior Richmond Chambers and Ramona Asbell.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Chambers; his children, Robert Denton (Connie), LaDonna Chambers, Richmond Chambers and Kelly Pizzino (Jason); his grandchildren, Ashley Hacker, Cory Denton, Brittany Bruening, Allyssa Castle, Rosie Zepeda, Cheyenne Zepeda, Jude Pizzino and Kelsey Pizzino; and his sisters, Barbara Lawrence (Boyce) and Leona Gaedicke. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church (5510 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
