He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Cammann and Martha Cammann (Kase). He is survived by: his wife Pauline Cammann; his daughter Martha Ann Shindledecker; his son-in-law Jeremy Shindledecker; his granddaughters, Kayla and Elizabeth; his brother Douglas F. Cammann; and his sister-in-law Lydia Sue Cammann.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Montlawn Memorial Park Funerals & Cremations (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial gifts to be given to the following organizations who helped in aiding Rex during his last years: Transitions Lifecare of Raleigh; Healthwell Foundation, Germantown, MD; Amedisys Hospice Care of Garner; Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church of Raleigh; or First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh.
