She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Rudy Bryan and Nell Dean Bryan (Plyler); and her siblings, Thomas Rudy "Doc" Bryan, Lillie Bryan Brewer and Jackson Donald Bryan.
She is survived by: her significant other Donald R. Billings; her children, Renee Billings Crawford (Robert) and Douglas Scott Billings (Jenny); her grandchildren, Kelly Billings-Yadav (Vishal), Abigail Crawford Williams (Mario), Anna Madeline Billings and Robert Edward Crawford; her great grandchild Carter James Williams; and her siblings, Nell Marie "Suzie" Wiles (David) of Wilkesboro, NC and John Q. Bryan (Janet) of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In 2013, Wake Forest University awarded Rhoda with the Medallion of Merit, the highest honor given by the University, which is presented for outstanding achievement and distinguished contribution to the University.
