He is survived by: his wife Wilda Karl of Raleigh; his son Robert Karl, Jr. of Raleigh; his stepdaughter Mitzi Montemore of Chester, Maryland; his grandchildren, Robert Karl III of Raleigh, Joshua Montemore of Middletown and Amanda McMullen of Woodbine, Maryland; his great grandchildren, Savannah and Evelyn Montemore of Middletown, Maryland.; his brother George John Karl III of Casselberry; and his nephews, George Karl IV of Oviedo and Matthew Karl of Jacksonville, Florida..
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Raleigh Memorial Park (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (5330 Babcock St NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905).
