He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cabaniss Diehl; his children, Robert Patrick Diehl Jr. (Jennifer) of Raleigh, Matthew Diehl (Jenna) of Raleigh, Robyn Diehl Boyd (William) of Wilmington, NC and Candice Diehl (Sharon) of Raleigh; his close friend Betty Housel of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Harrison, Preston, Castle, Hunter, Carter, Lindsey and Avery; his great grandchild Palmer; and his pet Little Diehl.
