He is survived by: his wife Diane Joyce Shafer (John F Kennedy); his children, Robert (Shawna Shafer), Kenneth Shafer (James Lindquist), Deborah (Michael Connell), Jana Shafer (Alex Hartman) and Boone of North Carolina; his siblings, Michael, Linda Shafer, Ethel Shafer Putman (Patty) and Catherine Shafer; his grandchildren, Winona Shafer Godwin, Mikaela Shafer, Joshua Shafer, Hannah Garrett, Caroline, Matteo Stocco, Sarah Connell, JP Harnden, Andrew Connell, John Connell, Mary Clare Connell, Charlie, Annabelle and Miles Hartman; and his great grandchildren, Matthew, Abram, Malia, Ramona, Hunter, Scout and Benedict. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
