He is survived by: his father Clarence (Myrtle Nemitz); his wife Betty Ann Welsh of Raleigh; his daughters, Sheila Nemitz of Raleigh, NC and Julie Nemitz Cogger (Jeb) of Leesburg, VA; his stepdaughters, Nancie Welsh Benson (Tom) of Durham, NC and Amy Welsh of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Logan and Griffin Cogger of Leesburg, VA; and his sister Lucille Melchert of Milwaukee, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
