She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Irving Walter and Sallie Johnson Walter; and her sister Jane Walter Robbins. She is survived by: her husband Bill Garrett; her children, Walt Garrett (Lisa) and Sally Meggs (Phillip); and her grandsons, David Meggs and Jack Garrett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the White Memorial Presbyterian Church (1704 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608).
