She was predeceased by: her parents, William Walter Pearson and Emily Alexander Pearson; her husband Charles H. Smith Jr.; and her son Charles Harrison Smith III. She is survived by: her daughter Sandee Smith Story; her son-in-law George Edward Story; and her grandsons, George Edward Story Jr. (Amy Lai) and Dr. William Andrew Story (Stavri).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Christ Episcopal Church (120 W Edenton St, Raleigh, NC 27601). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery (4764 US-258, Scotland Neck, NC 27874).
