She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace "Jack" Darnell and Ethel Roberson Darnell. She is survived by: her husband Jack Lester; her sons, David Lester (Rhonda) and Kevin Lester (Kori); and her grandchildren, Allen Lester (Jordan), Travis Lester, Sarah McVeigh (Ross) and Magdalyn "Maggie" Lester. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and several special extended family members and beloved close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Diane's memory to Transitions Hospice House of Raleigh.
