He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Cockrell and Lenora Edwards Cockrell; and his brothers, Ronald Cockrell and Donald. He is survived by: his wife Goldie Faye Cockrell; his daughter Stephanie Barnes (Matthew); and his granddaughter Abbie Barnes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church (1461 Jerusalem Church Rd, Kenly, NC 27542). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
