He is survived by: his children, India Nicholson, Melanie Harris and Karisan Lane Johnson (Omar). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight siblings; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Peace Baptist Church (1601 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
