She is survived by: her children, Gene A. Scarboro (Darlene) and Tannis E. Cox-Scarboro (Barbara Cox-Scarboro); her mother Mary Gladys Young; and her siblings, Sandra Baker, Delores Williams, Dennard Young (Yvette) and Charles Young (Maxine). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Parson Grove Baptist Church (561 Teddar Rd, Mt Gilead, NC 27306).
