He was predeceased by: his parents, V. N. Bass and Smithie Bass. He is survived by: his sons, David (Julie) of Raleigh and Paul (Lyn) of Newcastle, Maine; his grandchildren, Drew (Tori), Allison (Gary) and Tally; and his great grandchildren, Jack and Ruby. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
