He is survived by: his wife Helen M. Thompson; his children, Chavida Bunch, Christi Neal (Pastor Jeff), Rodriquez D. Carpenter (Bretney) and Latisha Williams (Matthew); his mother Geraldine M. Thompson; his siblings, Michelle Thompson, David Thompson and Ivan Thompson (Shelia); and his stepchildren, Anthony Massenburg, Angel Massenburg and Michael Massenburg (Eugenia). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Poplar Springs Christian Church (6115 Old Stage Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
