It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilmoth Holman Benfield of Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Leslie and Rosa Brogden Holman; her son Wally Benfield; and her siblings, Alice Holman Harrison and C. L. Holman.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Freeman Benfield; her children, Bob Benfield (Pam) and Lynn Benfield Carter; her sister-in-law Sue O'Malley; her grandchildren, Jennifer Knapmeyer (Rob), Sara Schoof (Chris), Matt Carter, Drew Carter (Brook) and Justin Benfield (Delaney); and her great grandchildren, Jordan Carter, Cameron Carter, Madison Knapmeyer and Wally Benfield. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
