He was predeceased by: his daughter Tamara Y. Lafferty; his parents, Lonnie York and Lela Langley York; and his brothers, Ervin of Ray, J. C., Wayne and Larry York.
He is survived by: his wife Ersell Shane York; his children, Kena Y. Langley (Travis) of Staley and Larry Wayne York (Jennifer) of Asheboro; his siblings, Joe York (Nancy) of Asheboro, Linda Moore of Burlington, Roger York (Linda) of Ramseur, Pat King of Little River, SC and Gary York (Mary) of Liberty; and his grandchildren, Grant Lafferty, Kayla S. Edmisten (Justin), Brent Lafferty, Luke Langley, Kensley, Austin York, Linda York of Greensboro and Pansy York of Ramseur. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
