He is survived by: his brother Grover Hammer of Asheboro; and his nieces and nephews, Teresa Byrd (Rex Auman) of Asheboro, Kari Hulin (Dale) of Asheboro, Karen Smith (Stephen) of Asheboro, Tara Jackson (David) of Asheboro, Michelle Landrum (Matthew) of Ramseur, Carl Byrd of Asheboro and Tracey Hammer (Michelle) of Asheboro. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.
