He was predeceased by : his parents, Grady Joseph and Nellie York Wood. He is survived by : his wife Linda Scott Wood; his stepdaughter Sherry Ritter (Kenny) of Robbins; his brothers, Billy Wood (Kay) of Asheboro, Harvey Wood (Doris) of Randleman, Charles Wood (Teresa) of Franklinville and Benny Wood (Linda) of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Brooke Crump (Matt), Cassie Manuel (Greg), Hayley Hare (Nathan) and Jake Ritter (Danielle); and his great grandchildren, Mason Crump, Bailey Crump, Taylor Manuel, Lincoln Crump, Memphis Manuel, Silar Manuel, Eli Ritter, Emmy Hare and Hudson Crump.

“I met Al Wood at Ramseur Lake, and we became close fishing buddies.. He loved to go with me on the boat and tell me where the best fishing holes were. We shared stories of our youth and the Good old days. He was proud of his accomplishments and very proud of his wife, Linda who worked side by side. We are very sad ,and will greatly miss Al. He was a great man and loved his Linda! Love to Linda and AL & Family Jimmy & Becky Kendricks”
