She was predeceased by: her husband George Edward Speight; her son John Owens; her grandson Chase Owens; her brother Tommy Handy; and her parents, Posey Handy and Lillie East Handy.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Owens of Ramseur, Kirby Owens (Tina) of Seagrove, Angel Jenkins (Ronnie) of Asheboro, Arnold Spencer and Lindo Spencer; and her siblings, Jerry Handy of Asheboro, Phillis Swaney of Reidsville and Brenda Handy. She is also survived by grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and three precious great-grandchildren.
